Most popular orthodox style promoted by Shihan Jogy Abraham established by the great Okinawan karate master Anko Itosu (1835 – 1915) and passed down to Kenwa Mabuni (1889-1952) to Ryusho Sakagami (1915-1993) and to the current Soke (the 4th generation grand master) Sadaaki Sakagami.

About Us

Welcome to Itosu-ryu karatedo India, the official branch of Itosu-ryu karatedo International Federation in India.

We are a group of passionate karate practitioners who follow the teachings and traditions of Itosu-ryu karatedo, one of the oldest and most authentic styles of karate.
Itosu-ryu karatedo India was established in 1998 by Sensei Jogy Abraham, a 7th dan black belt and a direct student of Soke Sadaaki Sakagami, the president and chief instructor of Itosu-ryu karatedo International Federation. Sensei Jogy Abraham has over 40 years of experience in karate and has trained thousands of students across India. He is also a certified referee and judge of the World Karate Federation (WKF) and the Asian Karate Federation (AKF)
